Lost login

I have a Worpdress site hosted by Godaddy (using a theme). I had been editing it happily, but I dropped it for 6 months and now coming back, I can’t figure out how to start up again. My first question is, how does downloading the WordPress “software” relate to editing my site if it is hosted by a third party?

I edited the blog through my internet browser while logged in, but my login information is not working now. I am totally, totally lost once again and I’ve spent at least 2 hours now clicking around trying to figure things out again.

I don’t even know if I’ve asked a question, but I need help. I use Coda, and had established my “Site,” but now when it connected it either shows a blank document, or, if I designate the index.php file, it shows the code but I cannot preview. This whole things is actually pissing me off quite a bit, pardon me.

Please ask me anything to help troubleshoot.
    Thanks.

You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you’ll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don’t understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

    The blog is at: yourboulderhomeblog.com.

It’s “self-hosted” in that it’s not hosted by WordPress, but I don’t think it has anything to do with WP.org. I do understand the difference.

I am more confused about the inability to access my account via the login information I had, even my email address is coming up unrecognized. But I clearly remember editing this blog through a web browser and within WP.
    Thx.

You still need to ask your questions at WordPress.ORG. They are used to dealing with log-in issues – any answer we give you here other than “go to WordPress.ORG” will be in error as the solutions to lost log-in’s are completely different.

WordPress.COM & WordPress.ORG use the same basic software but there are big differences in your area – and yes they look almost exactly the same once you are logged in.

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.COM, this site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/
