Lost login credentials

  A relative set my website up for me initially and lost the login credentials for the original WordPress account, which had registered the domain. I took over with my own WordPress account and have been paying for the domain and plan for a period of years now. I’m trying to transition to a different platform now, though, but can’t transfer the domain as I can’t access the account that originally created it. There has to be some way to resolve this without somehow finding a way to log into that account. Any ideas?
