Hi there,
Of which site are you speaking? https://metermadness.wordpress.com/, which you mentioned above, is using the Twenty Eleven theme, not Twenty Fourteen.
If that’s the correct site, if you scroll down you’ll see all your sidebar widgets at the bottom. When this happens it means there’s some invalid HTML in one of your posts that’s breaking the site’s layout. But I checked all your posts currently on the front page, and you had an empty HTML table inserted into the post at https://metermadness.wordpress.com/2021/07/24/mission-s-van-ness-intersection-closing-for-5-days-8-4-thru-8-9/. While there was nothing wrong with the HTML itself, in that particular post you had used the block editor, and it appears that your theme didn’t like that HTML table added inside of a column block, breaking the layout.
I removed that HTML and updated your post, and the site should now appear correctly again.

Thanks for the hasty response. This is one of my favorite themes and the site is quite old and established by now.
I am so confused about the block data that creeps in. I try to remove it when I can. I just want clean text. One of my fans wanted to follow me and alerted me to the fact that she could not find the follow button.
I guess I should always suspect the culprit is the last story posted. There is one other one that looks like it should go as it appears to be incomplete.
I am so grateful for your help! this is a very important site for many people.
Mari
