Lost my dot com!
-
I do not know what happened to my dot com account. I had deleted my dot com account on here, with the user name of mompart2. When I try to re-use that name, it says it is in use. I have the original mompart2 blog name back, but cannot regain the dot com part of it, and have no clue where to start. I still have the mompart2.com domain name registered to me. Also, if there is some way to get rid of the morethanmom user name…I tried, but it says the mompart2 user name is in use. But that’s ME! I just cannot access the account for some reason! I am not tech savvy. HELP?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/
Usernames are not recycled here. You changed your username and that it. You cannot get it back.

I understand what you are saying. So why would it say, when I attempt to go back to using the dot com, that it is already in use? I have the domain name registered to me. I was able to get back the ‘mompart2’ of the blog, but I cannot use my dot com again. So that is why I am confused. If I can get the name, why can’t I use my domain?
Who is using my dot com, that I would receive an error that says that name is already in use? I guess I am wondering if there is some way to re-access that, given that apparently it is still here.

If you are going to use your custom domain, then the underlying domain, whatever.wordpress.com, does not matter. Just register anything.
You can’t get it back because you deleted it and deleting it is permanent. If you changed your username, you can’t go back to the old one. You CAN, however, change hte display name on the blog simply by editing your Profile and setting whatever you like as the Nickname.

Essentially, your “ghost” is using your old username and Wp.com URL. You can’t go back. That’s what it says right in the warnings when you do this, which is why I for one NEVER recommend people do this; I always suggest they just register a new blog and/or change the display name.

Thank you. I still think it’s strange that I was able to get back the same user name and URL (not that it reflects that now, after I attempted to get the dot com back)) that I had previously. Guess I will either change things or not delete the blog from where I currently have it.
