Lost my entire portfolio
-
Hello!
I was hoping someone could help me. I have just changed the name of my wordpress (from tiffanysankeynews to tiffanysankeymedia). I have changed it in the past so I knew how to do it. However, I am unable to see any of my work (I used this as my portfolio). I made sure to not tick the box which deletes the old site. Any help would be great as I really do not want to rebuild my portfolio…

Hi there – the theme you’re currently using doesn’t automatically display portfolio projects, so you’ll need to turn portfolio support manually in the WP Admin dashboard, under Settings > Writing:
https://tiffanysankeymedia.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-writing.php
Next to “Portfolio Projects” check the box that says “Enable.”
You’ll then be able to see your automatically generated portfolio at this URL:
https://tiffanysankeymedia.wordpress.com/portfolio/
(If you don’t see your portfolio projects at that point we’ll need to some more digging.)
After that, you’ll need to one more thing:
You’ve currently assigned your blog posts to a static page called “Portfolio.” Since the /portfolio slug is taken over by your portfolio projects when you activate portfolios in a theme, you’ll need to assign your blog to a different page.
- Create a new page called Blog.
- In your Customizer‘s Static Front page panel, choose your new Blog page as your posts page.
Let me know how it goes.

Before you do anything, can you confirm that you’re referring to portfolio projects and not something else? Portfolios are something specific on WordPress.com:
