Lost my followers moving from wordpress.com to self-hosted
-
Dear WordPress.com support team,
I moved my WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress and I have lost my WordPress.com and email followers.
I have read on the wordpress.org support forum that I need to “contact wordpress.com tech support and ask them to transfer your wordpress.com subscribers to your self-hosted blog using Jetpack.”
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/importing-wordpresscom-followersDo both my blogs need to be on the same JetPack account?
(They don’t)Can you please help me?
My old blog:
http://lesdouxmots.wordpress.com/
My new blog:

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi kraftille,
I’d be happy to move your email and WordPress.com followers to your self-hosted blog for you.
Please keep in mind that while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site.
Because your self-hosted site is linked to a different WordPress.com account, can you please reply to this forum thread with that account to confirm that you’d like the followers moved there? Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Thanks!

Thank you!
I already subscribe to this thread, as I’ve been reading other threads with the same subject.
Please let them know thant I put both my blogs on the same JetPack account.

Hi Rachel,
I figure that it would be easier for you & me to have both blogs on this account (At first I thought that there might be a conflict, and that’s why I created the second account) and I figure it out how to do it.
Thany you for your explanation.
As long as my readers can still read me without having to change their habit, I’m happy! -
Thanks! I moved all of your followers to your blog at http://kraftille.fr/ as requested. You should be all set! :)

@myplantbasedfamily
If you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and posted the relevant URL(s) into this thread, Staff will do the transfer of subscribers and stats for you. I tagged this thread for their attention. -
I have Jetpack, which URLs are needed? My site is http://myplantbasedfamily.com/
It is the same domain name.thank you,

@myplantbasedfamily – I just started the process to transfer your email and WordPress.com followers to your self-hosted site. You had quite a few followers, so you may need to wait a bit for all of them to appear on your new site. Please let me know if you have any questions!
If anyone else needs help with this, please start a new forum thread so we can track your request. Thanks!
-
Thank you! I can now see all of my followers.
Is there a way to get my stats from my previous site moved over too?
Thanks,
Holly -
Hi Holly, sure thing! Sorry I missed that in your initial request. I just transferred your stats, so you should be all set. :)

I’m about to make this same change but I have another question. Once I move the site to the self hosted site, and have wordpress.com transfer my followers and stats, is it possible to keep the old wordpress.com url active and pointing to the new site, for those who might have it bookmarked?
-
@dispatchesfromthepotomac – You can leave your WordPress.com site up for as long as you’d like. To direct traffic from your old WordPress.com URL to your new site, you can buy the Site Redirect upgrade for your WordPress.com site.
If you’d like help with the site redirect or transferring your followers and stats, please start a new forum thread so we can track your request. Thanks!

Hi,
I started a new thread a while ago, but have not had any reply.
I have recently moved my blog to a self-hosted site. Can you please update my Reader Followers, so that they are following the new site (talesfromthesalerails.com) instead of the old site (talesfromthesalerails.wordpress.com)?
The blog I need help with is talesfromthesalerails.wordpress.com.

Hi Rachel,
I had no idea that I could also have my stats back.
Can you also do the transfer? Thanks!
-
@kraftille – sure thing! I just merged the stats from your old blog to your blog at http://kraftille.fr/ for you. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
