lost order

Hi I have not been operating for some time. I discontinued my shop site with cloud ways. I still own my domain. I expected that my WordPress site would fall away but it hasnt. I was going to try to transfer everything over to Shopify, but my mental health struck and everything was too hard to face let alone operate. So O haven’t for well over a year. I just assumed all links were now invalid.

Ive just had an order via PayPal and I cant even see it in WordPress because I have no account anymore. My website pages are still up there and have obviously facilitated an order through PayPal and I cant work out how if my WordPress is shut down.

    Please help me.

  • Howdy –

Thanks for getting in touch and giving us the opportunity to help you sort through things. Running your own business and online presence is A LOT on the best of days! We understand and hope that you’ve been taking care of yourself.

Looking at craftmylife.com.au I can see it’s hosted on Cloudflare. It’s not using our managed hosting environment from WordPress.com.

For help, I would contact them first. Otherwise, there’s a volunteer network available for folks who run their own WordPress installations, which is how you’re set up. That is available at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

By design, WordPress.com is set up for folks with projects like this one. Here on WordPress.com our team offers a managed hosting environment. This means that we handle all the back end details of the site. Things like back ups, updates, security, spam, seo, ssl, mobile optimization, top notch hosting specs, and sorting out any errors or bugs that pop up along the way. When you run a stand alone WordPress installation, like what y’all have set up through Cloudflare, then all of those details fall on to you – so instead of being able to focus on content you spend a ton of time and frustration fixing these sort of issues, or trying to solve the best solutions for each. You don’t have to worry about any of that on WordPress.com’s hosting.

All of our hosting plans are available on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ If you think a managed environment is a better setup for the project and your experience level then we can talk more about how to move your site over and what’s involved with that process. You’re able to run a full blown, customized ecommerce solution with our business plan. Other options like Wix and Shopify are quite limiting and you’ll need to make sure you’re able to export your content when using another service. We don’t take any ownership or fees and you can leave at any time with your content.
