Lost over 300 followers overnight

Im new to blogging but wondered why I lost over 300 followers overnight? Did people just unfollow or did something crash?

Looking for clues. Did you make any changes to your blog just before you noticed the drop in followers?

Thank you Brian, not that I can remember. I did notice that my widget for most viewed posts only showed two posts not 10 like I had set and they were posts that werent the most viewed. So odd. Then I changed it today to most liked posts and it showed normal.
Strange. I would hate to lose my whole blog!! so much effort and hours we put in to formatting and content. Oh well maybe I need to be more creative! I might of bored 500 people overnight with my real story a few days ago saving an old couple. I will see what happens overnight. -
The total follower count on your blog includes followers from connected social networks (http://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/). Did you by any chance disconnect one of your accounts under Publicize?
As for the top posts widget, it shows posts based on most likes or most views for the last 48 hours, not all time: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/top-posts-widget/

Thank you Im not sure how but they all appeared back again!! so strange. I added the meta widget maybe that made them appear back again. All good now, that was really doing my head in! thanks for the support answer. Cheers

If you look at the top of the forums you’ll see that a British ISP blocked WP.com overnight and then unblocked us, so that might be the cause.

Thank you raincoaster, I thought I had lost my mind!! I think I have nearly all the followers back now!! It’s a constant learning process with the format and all the features work but I do enjoy it all. Thanks for the support.
