Lost Owner, Cannot Transfer Ownership

So we’ve run into a tricky situation. We’re trying to change our domain name but the old owner of the site doesn’t remember their email or password and we have no way of finding it. Is there a way we can either transfer ownership so that I can edit the name without knowing the owner’s information so that we can change the domain name? (We just want a free one) Or is there a way to do that without transferring ownership?

Can you please confirm the URL of the site you need help with?
If you’re speaking of http://lettersthatlift0.wordpress.com/, you’re an admin on that site, so should have the ability to change the site address, even if you’re not the owner.

However, only the owner of a site can transfer ownership to someone else. We can’t do that at the request of a completely different user on the site under any circumstances.
