I have built my website with wordpress for the last two years, but I can no longer find it. All my work is gone. The entire website is lost and I do not know how to recover it. How do I get it back?

Hi there,
Can you check the Trash section on the posts list page of your dashboard?
https://wordpress.com/support/trash/Check whether the posts exist there or not.
Thanks and Regards

Hi there, just to make sure, is vanessamorgann.wordpress.com the site you need help with or do you need help with a different site? If a different site, what’s that site’s address?
-
Hello, thanks for all your help. I checked the trash but there is nothing in there and the website I have been using is: vanessamorgann.com
What else can i do?

Thank you!
Update: I found the website but is there a way for it to show as a full website? Is there anything I need to do to take it back to the way it used to be in terms of arrangement?

@obuomorgan It looks like your domain VANESSAMORGANN.COM is currently using these domain name servers:
NS69.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS70.DOMAINCONTROL.COMWhen I try to access your site, it redirects me to a WordPress.com website with this message:
Something unexpected happened while accessing this website. It looks like it doesn’t have an active domain connection upgrade to link the requested domain name to the WordPress.com site.
If this is your domain name and it has recently stopped working, it’s possible that your plan or domain may have expired. Please log in to your WordPress.com account and review the status of your plan and domain.
Is it possible that you’ve let your WordPress.com upgrade plan lapse? I’ve gone ahead and flagged this thread for Staff attention and assistance. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.
@tallahasseeair2 please be patient for someone to answer you at your own forum thread at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/cant-access-page-3/ and do not open new forum threads on this same topic so we can track progress on your issue. Thanks. -
Hello @justjennifer…thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. I hope that I can get my site back and I look forward to working with staff on this.
-
You’re welcome, but in the meantime you can take the first steps now by doing this:
If this is your domain name and it has recently stopped working, it’s possible that your plan or domain may have expired. Please log in to your WordPress.com account and review the status of your plan and domain.
Head to your account Purchases page at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases and see if your site’s plan expired.
You do need to be logged in with the WordPress.com account that originally purchased the plan in order to see that information, so if it is not this account you are using to post to these forums, please first log out of this account and then log back in to the correct account.

@obuomorgan – you purchased a WordPress.com Personal plan for
vanessamorgann.wordpress.comwith a domain transfer forvanessamorgann.comon November 5. This plan and transfer were cancelled and refunded in full the same day.Your domain appears to have a redirect to an invalid WordPress.com website
vanessamorgann.com.wordpress.com– you would need to change that redirect and nameservers with GoDaddy to point to your previous hosting provider as we do not have any of your website content on the sitevanessamorgann.wordpress.comwhich is the only website associated with your account here at WordPress.com.If you don’t remember what your prior domain nameservers were, GoDaddy might have that information in their logs.
Best of luck.

helper-heroponriki – I do not understand what you mean. I reversed that payment because I thought it was signing me up for a new page, even though I have the http://www.vanessamorgann.com so i didn’t want to duplicate things. Is there a way I can check if I have multiple accounts with wordpress…this one shows I just made that payment but for the website I am talking about, I have been using it for two years so I have made payments in the past. That is the one I am trying to retrieve.
I spoke to GoDaddy and they keep referring me back to you. -
What my colleague has summarized is correct, at least for our end.
Was the site hosted here at WordPress.com, or were you perhaps using the WordPress software from https://wordpress.org/ hosted elsewhere?
-
I do not think so. WordPress was hosting it but my domain is from GoDaddy. Is that what you mean?
-
Hello there,
WordPress was hosting it but my domain is from GoDaddy. Is that what you mean?
It looks like the domain and the site is with GoDaddy.
I hope this helps.
-
Hello, I spoke with GoDaddy and they only have my domain and not the site. What can I do next?
-
Hi there,
Unfortunately if GoDaddy does not have a backup of the site, there is not really anything we’re able to do on this end.
We do have full backups for sites we host directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting but we do not have historical data for sites hosted with other providers.
I do see that some site content has been stored in the Internet Archive (an organization we’re not related to) so you may be able to copy and paste some content from there, but otherwise it’s sounding like you will need to rebuild the site from scratch.
