Lost page rank after moving to self hosted wordpress
-
So my blog stylemomonline.wordpress.com was redirected to Stylemom.COM for a month or so. During that entire time I had the #1 – #3 spot on Yahoo AND Google for these two terms: “Stylemom” and “Style mom” – ever since I switched to self hosted wordpress.org – I have kept the top spot on Yahoo and now my Google page rank is a ZERO!!! After all my hard work in getting the top spot for these KEY terms – why would my Google PR just up and disappear?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Because you changed URLs. They are URL-specific for awhile until Google figures it out. It won’t be long until they do, and you can expedite the process with various techniques like specifically informing Google Blogsearch that the blog is the same and you’ve switched URLs.
In future, please take Wp.org questions to their forums. They’ll be able to give you more specific guidance, since most of them have lived through this.
By the way, there is nothing you can add to or tweak on a WordPress.org blog that will give it the googlejuice of a typical WordPress.com blog, in part because of the global tag pages.

Why would my Google PR just up and disappear?
Because PR is linked to the domain, i.e. the URL and stylemomonline.wordpress.com is different from stylemom.com. Google sees the two as very separate sites.
