Lost pages
-
Maybe I took the line “no limits to how deeply nested pages can be” too far. A whole sequence disappeared yesterday as I was managing my 2 pages widgets (listing pages that shouldn’t show on one list but should on the other). Now a sequence starting with a particular page is nowhere to be found (fyi, the link still lives on one text widget: ). Besides, the pages widgets refuse to show altogether on the sidebars (I’ve temporarily removed them so it doesn’t look bad).
Any word of advice? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

ops. that link line is not meant to be… disregard it please. I meant to display the path to where the page should be: http://anapropo.wordpress.com/c-saudadesoraria-xii/c-saudadesoraria-xi/c-saudadesoraria-x/c-saudadesoraria-ix/c-saudadesoraria-viii/c-saudadesoraria-vii/c-saudadesoraria-vi/c-ainda-mais-saudades

That’s a rather gruesome URL.
This is rather off-topic but: Have you considered the negative effect on your SEO that these nested pages are having? Essentially, the farther away from the front of a blog you add content, the less search engines will care about you. This is in addition to the massive difference between pages and posts in terms of visibility to search engines. It seems like you’re going through a lot of work only to have chosen the design that gives you the least reward for it.

… thanks for giving me the real picture. As you may well guess, I am not good at this and I don’t know much about what I am doing. I must say that I couldn’t care less about search engines (opted that out on my settings). But I’ve come to terms with the facts that 1) a bunch of my pages are lost and 2) I am better off setting the page order for my subtopics rather the nesting one inside another (posting alone won’t do it, I am much too ambitious). You are absolutely right about why to bother so much with that design – I just changed it, actually. What I am hoping now is that some help will come on my way to get rid of the bug (I am assuming it’s one of those) that is preventing the pages widget to function – the minute I drag it (I’ve been trying several ways) into the sidebar the whole sidebar disappears from the blog.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks,

Support came in to rescue: I had set a circular loop with my page nesting. For future reference, there are such things…
