lost password and mail

    Hello,

I was going to create a blog today, but I found that the username was already taken. Then I took a look to the blog and found that there were only two posts, the default wordpress post and a test post, both of them in March 6th of 2008. Not only the username is what I would have chosen, the test post is also the style of post I’d have written, therefore I thought I did it, however, after trying to receive the e-mail with the password in several addresses I cannot find the address I used to register.

Are inactive accounts deleted? because I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to have any activity in that account, and I don’t mind waiting to get the username back. If not, is there something I can do to get it back? I may not even keep at this point the e-mail address I used to register.

    Thank you very much, regards.

You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.

If you don’t understand the difference, you may find this information helpful.

No, you will not be able to get that account back. I would suggest you just pick a new name, or register with a filler URL and purchase the Domain Upgrade, which will allow you to use YourChoiceOfName.com instead of Whatever.wordpress.com.

Inactive accounts are never deleted and never made available for anyone else. It is only the owner of that account who can transfer ownership of the account/username. If you don’t know what email you signed up with or you have lost the password to your alleged wordpress.com account, I don’t think there’s much you can do, besides starting a new blog.
