Lost phone: Moving Google Authenticator

My phone was lost while traveling abroad. I have installed Google Authenticator on a new device, but I can’t disable it on my old device. How do I move two-step security to my new device? I can’t receive SMS texts until I get back home and get a new phone.

I have the same problem. I got a new phone & am now locked out. My backup codes are not working. I’ve been dealing with this for 2 weeks with no resolution. Unfortunately, if you can’t log into your account from a computer to disable autheticator, you will have to wait until you can get texts. With my new phone, I never receive the texts from the app. :( I hope that doesn’t happen to you! Good luck!

Here’s the link on how to disable it (scroll towards bottom on that page)

    Enable Two-Step Authentication
