  I just finished a post, saved it and then lost internet connection and now it is gone. Can this post be recovered?

  Search it in drafts.

  Before you do anything else, go to https://wordpress.com/post with the same browser and see if it offers to restore a post. If a restore button appears, that means a local copy was saved in your browser and you may be able to recover it that way. The drafts location galois suggested is the next best place to check after that.
