Lost post text after 'Publish'
-
Hello!
I wrote my first, decent sized post ready for an event tomorrow, clicked Publish, it said I’d Published my first post, then I went to share it and clicked ‘Press This’ thinking that was an option to share it around WordPress in addition to all the Twitter/Facebook etc sharing options.
It had the option to create a form, so I did – thinking this would mean people reading the post can respond to me privately – finished that and now all I can find are 2 posts of the same title #PNDHOUR 9TH JULY HOSTED BY ME!! CHOSEN TOPIC: INFANT FEEDING & THE IMPACTS UPON MENTAL HEALTH but one with only a pic and caption, and the other with a form!!
Where has all my writing gone, and can I get it back?!
I was doing it through the Chrome browser on my Android phone, through the WordPress site, and unfortunately (as is obviously the case) I did not copy what I had written elsewhere :(
I’ve tried looking in drafts and trash etc and can’t find anything, I’m new to WordPress (in case you hadn’t guessed!!) and therefore not finding my way around that easily – although usually pretty tech friendly…
Please tell me you can help me to recover my heartfelt post – it’s not really the sort of thing I can write twice, it was an on the spot thing! I was so happy to have finally Published my first post :'(
And yes, I have gone through the support pages and tried to Google the problem too…From a very sad Jen…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
See also if applicable > restoring from trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash(If you are referring to a Page then see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-revisions/)
If you cannot locate a revision or restore from Trash the content has been lost and cannot be recovered.
I recommend:
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
Immediately after creating a post and entering a title click the save draft link. Thereafter, “click save draft” frequently.
Always allow pages to fully load before clicking any other links.
Never leave a post or page open for content creation or editing and walk away from it. Save it properly and return to edit it later.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/ -
Thanks for the quick response but I have already tried these options, and cannot even see any revisions listed, or anything in trash. That is why I am asking for further help as I haven’t managed to find a solution through the routine methods on the support sections :(
Obviously next time yes I will be saving frequently. I never walked or didn’t wait for the page to load properly. I was writing the whole time then pressed Publish and it said it had been published – before which I did not delete all of my writing, that happened afterwards!
Is there anyone that can take a look for me if you are not admin?
Thanks, Jen -
I’m terribly sorry this happened to you.I have also had this happen to me. If you cannot locate a revision or restore from Trash then the content has been lost and cannot be recovered.

DO NOT RELY ON THE SAVING BUTTON. If you compose via the New Post button, the save appears to work but in reality it does not. I suggest that before hitting Publish, you click to the Text editor and select all, save all. That way if it goes poof it’s on your clipboard and you can just paste it back in.
Clearly the saving doesn’t work.
