LOST POSTS
-
I recently wrote an intense post in html and everything was fine. i refreshed the page and it was all gone…thinking this was my fault i rushed into looking for the answer but it was 2 am and the automatic kids werent around…any of you know how to revive a post or if its even possible?

Did you press ‘Save’ before this happened? Posts are also auto-saved every few minutes if you’ve changed something. You might find a draft version if it was saved. Look under Dashboard → Write. At the top of that page should be a ‘Your Drafts’ box. If it’s not there, and you didn’t publish it either, it’s indeed lost and you’ll have to type everything again.
Refreshing the page is something that happens on your system. Support won’t be able to help you if you got your text lost before it reached WordPress.com. -
please help me :( i had a post in home page, i went to categories and deleted all categories , i didnt know it will delete my home page post :( what should i do now ?? is there anyway to get it back ?? pls pls pls help me.

We need a link to your blog and the name of the post, so we can try to figure out what happened. Deleting categories shouldn’t have any effect on your home page. If you clicked away from the Write Post page before you hit Save or Publish, then yes, you maybe lost the post you were working on. Sometimes you can get it back if you just keep hitting the Back arrow on your browser, though.
If it’s this one: http://myacc3ss.wordpress.com/ then it doesn’t seem like you had a post on your home page. Have you made any blog posts? Why not make one, just as a test, hit Publish, and let us know what happens.

There are 4 pages listed in the blog sidebar and that is all that is in the database.
You can only search using Google’s blog search, Technorati and similar if it was published but if it was only published for a short time the chances could be low.

If you search Google for the name of the post, you might be able to find the cached version and copy it from there. Try.
You can also use an offline blog editor, like Blogdesk. That way you always have a copy, and you can save your tags and formatting and pictures, not like notepad.

:-< checked Google, found nothing.
i dont know how to use an offline blog editor, donno what is blogdesk , i am new to bloging, i m pretty new to the net in general :( trying to learn everything by myself :) -

Windows only. If you have Vista, you’ll have to download dhtmled.ocx from MS.
The BlogDesk site should have enough information to get you up and running.

tnx, i just downloaded it, i will try it now, i hope i will manage to use it easily . thank u so much :)

You’re welcome.
The person who coded it has a help forum on their website. So you can always search there if you get stuck.
I’m not in Windows right now, but as long as you choose wordpress.com as the blog type, you should be fine.

Be aware that you may have to drop the designer a feedback to get him to activate your account. He seems a bit overreactive on deleteing what he feels are spam accounts that have signed up.
