Lost site

I accidentally changed the URL domain in my wordpress site… now I cannot access the site at all… some of the pages show up, but they are not formatted at all. Is there any way for me to get my site back?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

What is the URL that you changed?

I see only one site in your account, inspiredlearningca.wordpress.com. That site was created as a brand new site at around the same time you created this thread, and there has never been an address change on that site.

Hi. I had the website inspiredlearning.ca…. it was a full functioning wordpress site… when I was in dashboard, I changed the URL to something else (mistakenly thinking that this would change the URL to the site). Now I cannot access the dashboard at all.

This happened a number of months ago. I have the passwords and usernames to the old site to log on to wordpress, but they do not seem to work.

  • The domain, inspiredlearning.ca, has never been connected with your WordPress.com account in any way.

That domain is registered with PublicDomainRegistry.com, and is currently hosted with ehosts.com, so if you have a WordPress site at that domain it’s using the self-hosted WordPress.org software, not WordPress.com. With self-hosted WordPress there is a very specific process you need to follow to change a domain on a site, otherwise you just break the site and lock yourself out of the dashboard.

Please contact ehosts.com support for help in reconnecting your domain to your site, as this needs to be done from your hosting control panel with them.
