Lost site and user profile when I updated my admin email
-
I changed my admin email in the settings and it emailed me a link to log in to wordpress. When I did it logged me in with a completely new user with NO WEBSITE!! Everything is gone! I can google my site and it will come up with my admin dashboard on top but anything I click it takes me to a log in screen and tells me its the wrong credentials!! What just happened!!!

@lifeovergrownb03da27ca2 could you send a link to the site you’re having trouble with? I don’t see any sites listed here on our servers.

OK, the website is still there — it’s just associated with a different account.
Are you able to log out and log back in with the original username?
-
No for some reason when I changed the admin email it made a completely different account.. I can’t access my old profile at all!! But the new account doesn’t have my website! I do not understand what happened. All I did was change admin email.. it emailed me a link to confirm and when I clicked it this happened.

Lifeovergrown (my original username) doesn’t work anymore so I tried to login with the email I changed it to (email visible only to moderators and staff) but it just takes me to the new blank profile with no website

You should be able to log in with the
lifeovergrownusername. What happens when you try to log in using that username? Does it tell you the username is invalid, or does something else go wrong?Note that the email address you gave above is not the one associated with that account.
If you don’t remember the correct email address, or it no longer works, please submit our account recovery form instead if you’re unable to log into the account using the username only:
