Lost site content
-
Hi,
HELP PLEASE!!
I just got hostgator to host my blog but my domain is still with WP.
I successfully imported my content from WP (got an email from them). I also changed my nameserver to what hostgator gave me. But then when I checked my site, I found that I lost all its contents. Hostgator said they will do the transfer for me, which is great.
So I changed my nameserver again to WP, but still, my site has no content.
What happened? How can I return the content until hostgator migrates it?
HELP PLEASE!!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

But I can still log into my blog administration and all my posts as still there – eagertraveler.com

Change your domain to Hostgator and WAIT. It can take up to 72 hours for the DNS to settle down.
That said, you have to transfer your own contents. Here are the instructions:

Hi thanks for your reply.
I have contacted hostgator and they said they will do the transfer for me.
but for the meantime, I would like to keep my blogsite running until they finish the transfer. I changed my nameserver back to wordpress so my blog would still point to wordpress. but I still don’t see the contents of my site.

I checked out the link you sent and I did this already.
I think I have a backup in my computer (XML file?). Can I use that to restore my site content?

http://eagertraveler.com/ – on WordPress.COM is fine – unless you delete a blog it stays here with your content – the problem as @RC pointed out above is that when you start swapping name server names you end up trashing access to your site – and you have dual config info spread out all over the internet and that crashes access –
first thing to do is set things the way you need them and don’t mess with them for the 72 hour time frame
