Lost subscribers after deleting site, is retrieval possible?

  • Unknown's avatar

I wondered if it were possible to somehow contact or have the info to be able to contact my 39 subscribers from the site I deleted “likethesunshone.wordpress.com”. I was very rash and stupid in deleting the site but have now created a new one “agapintheclouds.wordpress.com” and uploaded the export file but I have lost my subscribers. Some of them have returned as I have remembered who they were but I can’t remember the others. And they will find only the closed site link.

Is there any way for you to retrieve the data, perhaps from the .xml file or some other way?

    Thanks

I’m sorry, but information from deleted blogs cannot be restored.

Deleting a blog is permanent; there are several warnings about this on the Tools -> Delete Site page and in the help pages, and you are required to confirm the deletion by email:
    http://support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/

As an alternative, we do have the site redirect upgrade, which would redirect visitors to your old site to your new blog address:

    Site Redirect
