Lost theme

Hello, I am one of a few parents that manages a school’s PTO website (estabrookpto.org). We were using a theme named “Chronicle” until recently, a different theme was accidentally activated. I am unable to add the old theme (Chronicle) back, as a payment is required (it is a “premium” theme). As PTO site, the site admins rotate every couple of years, and I am wondering if theme ownership is tied to a user and not the site. Any help would be great. I am hoping someone there might be able to help. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Companies. groups and organizations of any kind do not own sites.

Every WordPress.COM site has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

If you do not have the required access you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

The owner of the site can transfer the site to another account by adding another username account as an Admin. https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator

Thanks, we have full control, but the theme we were using is requiring re-payment.

You do not own the site, unless you registered it under your username account and and associated email address, and are the original Admin of the site so do be clear on that.

If that is not the case contact the site’s actual owner because premium themes are a one time purchase.

Thanks. Is a purchased theme tied to a site or a person?

    Hello –

We will need the upgrade owner of the premium theme to post here in order to add it back to the site. The upgrade is not owned by your user account.

The person who purchases the site upgrade owns that upgrade and they can choose which site they want to apply it to.

Hello, I am the site’s owner. As Mike (ekimorb) mentioned, it’s a PTO site, so the site’s ownership gets passed off as positions change/kids move on, but I am the site owner now and until recently we were happy with the theme we had until its inadvertent change. Thanks!

Could you please look in the site’s logs and confirm that the previous theme was “Chronicle”? Thank you.

    Hi –

The Premium plan upgrade on your account was not renewed in May. Premium themes, like Chronicle, are included at no extra charge with this plan, see here: wordpress.com/pricing/

When this plan expired the theme was removed from your site.

I am sending a note your way via email with more details now.

It wasn’t renewed, or it expired? I just looked at our plan, and it is good until June 12 2018!!
