lost usernames
-
Someone on my client’s team set up two different wordpress.com sites about the business, but they’re not with the company anymore and we don’t have access to redirect the sites.
There’s a new wordpress.org site that’s now live, but we’d like to either remove the previous two sites or redirect them to the new. What do we need to do to make this happen (we cannot log in to either site, as we don’t know the username/pwd)I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there!
Could you mention the address of either site so we can make sure it’s hosted with WordPress.com? If it is, to recover access to the account, we’d need one of the ownership proofs mentioned here:

Hey Frsatomica,
Aerospace components from the leading edge of composites fabrication
we can prove that we have Harwoodcomposites.com,the problem is – we don’t know which email was used to set them up, so the account recovery options are tricky.
Are you able to push something to the admin email that we can use to regain access?

@time2getonline, those two sites are under two different accounts. One way to figure out the email address for the site, though, is to leave a comment on a blog post. In most cases, the admin email will get notification of the pending comment. Then you can log out and log in with that. -

The client’s IT department(s?) may want to temporarily accept mail to non-existing addresses rather than put it in a “black hole” .. they’ll know what that’s about. And they can likely find the password reset emails when you get those.
