lost website, please help!
-
Hi, I used to keep several sites/blogs using WordPress including vyvywonder.com, which hosted my comics and art. I accidentally let the domain lapse on January 19, 2025. It appears someone purchased that domain on April 10, 2025, which is unfortunate but not the end of the world. My question: is the CONTENT of the site still preserved somewhere, even if I no longer own that domain? I can’t seem to log in. I believe my username was vyvywonder, and the email address it was associated with is one I briefly lost access to (it is a university alumni account), but I recently restored access but no amount of password resets is helping me get in there. It was a site poured so much time and energy into and has a TON of my old artwork, and I would really love help restoring access if possible. Thank you.

Hello @soulache! I’ll be happy to help you with this. 🙂
I’m really sorry to hear about the loss of your domain vyvywonder.com. I took a quick look and saw that it was recently registered with Namecheap. You can check this out here:
https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/vyvywonder.com
The good news is that losing access to a domain won’t affect your site’s content, so there’s really no need to worry about that.
If you still have access to the email linked to your account, you can email us at help@wordpress.com, and we’ll be happy to assist you in regaining access. If you don’t have access to that email, you can try our account recovery method using this link:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#verify-your-account-ownership
You’ll need to share a few details to verify you’re the owner of the account, such as a transaction ID from any previous purchases. Once we receive that, our team will review your request and do our best to help you regain access to your account.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need any extra help, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
