lost wordpress followers when transferred to self-hosted site

    I transferred my blog to a self hosted site, and lost all my wordpress.com followers- can you retureve them and send them to my new site?

    original site was http://www.livelovereno.wordpress.com, but i had upgraded to my own domain, http://www.livelovereno.com sometime before i moved to self-hosted with bluehost, new self-hosted site is http://www.livelovereno.com

    also, i lost my email subscribers- can you get those back as well?

    Looking at your sites, I don’t think we ever moved your subscribers over to the new site. (They do not move automatically; this is something that only WordPress.com staff can do.)

    If you’d like, I can move them over for you. I think you may need to disconnect and then reconnect Jetpack on your WordPress.org site first though, since it appears not to have picked up on your new domain name yet.

    Let me know when you’d done that and I can move the subscribers over for you! :) Thanks!

  • Hi Jaime – your Jetpack connection is still displaying a temporary address on this end, with your IP.

    You’ll need to make sure that Jetpack is connected to WordPress.com with your actual domain name livelovereno.com. Otherwise you’ll have problems later with links in your emails to subscribers.

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Jetpack page in your site’s dashboard
    2. Click the “Connected to WordPress.com” button in order to disconnect
    3. Make sure that the domain name livelovereno.com is displayed in your browser address bar and in the Site URL field under General -> Settings
    4. Go back to the Jetpack page in your dashboard and click “Connect to WordPress.com”

    Please let me know when you’ve updated your Site URL and reconnected Jetpack, and I can transfer your subscribers for you.

    thanks- I just updated the URL- didn’t realize I needed to do that. then have disconnected and reconnected jetpack.
