  Hi – I am trying to gain admin over http://www.lightcityderby.com.au/ which has been left for a few years.

  Somehow we’ve created a duplicate account with this login, and I now can’t recover http://www.lightcityderby.com.au

  Can you please help?

  The site seems to have gone down today when I managed to recover in and run an update.

  WP.com: Yes
  Jetpack: No
  Correct account: Yes

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there:

  To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

  1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
  2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
  3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

  Since your site is not hosted with us, we’re limited in what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.

  You should reach out to your host for help with this issue. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you regain access to your site and fix the issue that took your site offline. If you’re not sure who is your hosting provider, you can use a website like Hosting Checker to look up that information.
