Lost WP Dashboard Access

All of a sudden, my website, Honeymoon-Forever.com disappeared. Not only that, I can’t seem to access the Word Press Dashboard, where I have approx. 100 posts on there which I really need to review and continue to post. I put in my User Name and Password, but no go. Then, I can’t seem to change my password. Any Ideas?

  • Hello there, please confirm if your site address is honeymoon-forever.com. As it seems the domain is not owned by anyone currently.

Thanks much for your reply! So http://www.honeymoon-forever.com is mine. I’ve had the site for years now, as I’m a writer. Do I understand that the Word Press dashboard is closely tied to my website? I guess that’s why I’m having difficulty gaining access. Now, it is possible that because of recent disuse and some lack of attention, I may’ve lost the website name domain? I confess that I am not all that tech savvy! What do you think? Cheers, Robert.

  • Hi there,

The domain, honeymoon-forever.com, has never been connected to WordPress.com in any way, so if you had a site at that domain, it was using the open source WordPress software found over on WordPress.org.

However, that domain does not appear to currently be registered, so it’s most likely that your domain expired at least three months ago. Looking at https://securitytrails.com/domain/honeymoon-forever.com/history/a, it looks like you used to have that domain with GoDaddy.com, so you’ll need to contact them for help – hopefully your site’s files have not been removed from their servers yet so you can still recover them, but only GoDaddy will know.
