Lots and lots of good comments came in tonight. But…….

Tonight I got many comments from a sweet looking young lady who has a blog (which is not WordPress). She said nice things so I took it well and felt good and replied to her, but now there have been so many coming in, all from her, that I am beginning to wonder if maybe this is a problem and I am not aware of it;
I do not mind that this young woman sends lots of supportive and complimentary comments (to an article about the automobile industry). As long as the comments are coming from an honest heard I appreciate the comments….. but I want to know if you see something that could be a problem. Please let me know, as I might have to delete her comments,but I would hate to do it because she looks like a sweet young girl and I feel very protective of her in a way. It’s the school teacher in me – retired, but still a teacher at heart.

You are being spammed I believe. Notice all the comments are very generic and don’t really mention any of the actual content of your article. And the name has a link to a sight that looks like a splog site. You should delete them and put them on the Comments blacklist.

My oh my, they sure are keen with the comments, hey?
l read somewhere about this sort of thing, about how when they post, it bumps up their name as current in some search engines. Went over my head but there appeared to be a reason for it. -
Thank you for helping me to decide what to do and how to assess all those comments. I went and deleted all of them, marking them all as spam.

As the comments links are NoFollow, it doesn’t actually do ANYTHING for them in search engine terms. But that doesn’t stop spammers.
Lorna, thanks for your sigfile. It’s helpful. It could be perfect if you’d add http:// before your blog URL. That would make it clickable.
