lots of spam from 1 site

  i got 17 spams from 1 site to-day all with different names , topics but also different IP address’s

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Welcome to the internet.

  I get about 75 per day from one particular username, but each has a different email and different website link to the username. They are all caught by the spam filter, so I don’t worry about it.

  i’m used to the spam it’s no problem , so i take it theres no way to block ip address’s

  In theory, you can block IP addresses from commenting by inserting them into your blacklist:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklist

  But in my humble opinion, it’s futile. For spammers (and everyone else) changing IP addresses is the easiest thing in the world.

  And by the way, even if comments are intercepted by comparing them with the blacklist, they simply go to the “spam” queue.

  Blocking IP addresses is utterly futile – useless! TSP and I have posted on this so many times it’s amazing that people just don’t get it. Spammers can get new IPs in seconds flat. Worse still is that blocking an IP may result in everyone who happens to be in the same IP BLOCK of addresses to be blocked as well.
