  Hello, I would like to try this template and have my own website space and wish to download the template…OR to find in a search from within wordpress admin, however I don’t seem to be able to do either. The Lovebird Template doesn’t show in searches (from WP admin -> templates) …. am I missing something? Is this template usable on personal webspace?

  You are not missing anything. If you can’t find a wordpress.org version that means the theme is only avaiable to those with free hosted wordpress.com blogs at this point in time.
