Low visitors yet high traffic and hits – host to suspend my hosting

  Hello,

  TL;DR: My visitor number is really low, yet I am getting complains from my hosting provider that my site uses a lot of bandwidth and traffic.
  
  I have a small website, http://www.interview-with-your-consciousness.com , and it barely gets visitors. However, lately i did get a small number of visitors, compared to the past and I received a message from my host (hostpapa) that I am using too many resources and my account will be suspended if it continues this way.
  I contacted them and I was told that I was getting too much traffic and hits, per visitor. This lead to slowing down their server and creating some errors / crashes.
  I did check the bandwidth used on my website and it seems that 8GB were used in 2 weeks time.

  In Essence, is there a problem with my website?
  I do run Super Cache on it and I have optimized images.
  Why would I get such a big traffic for so few visitors?
  My visitor number is ridiculous, yet I am getting complains that my site uses a lot of bandwidth and traffic.
  Do you guys have any suggestion, or maybe point me in the right direction on what to do here to lower the traffic?

  You’re asking for help in the WordPress.com forum which is where volunteers and staff offer assistance for sites hosted here (such as your deleted site flashvlad7). At WordPress.com there are no bandwidth restrictions and site security and updates happen automatically. Your site is using the WordPress.org software and as the support document below states, you have to:

  perform backups and maintenance yourself.

  If your host cannot help then perhaps the WordPress.org forum can offer advice. https://wordpress.org/support/
