Lowest cost of domain transfer = $96?

  Hello,

  I currently own a Google domain and was looking to transfer it to WordPress to get that pesky ‘wordpress.com’ off of my site name.

  However, looking at the pricing options for doing that, it seems like the only way that WordPress allows people to do that is through buying an annual subscription.

  Is there not a cheaper way to get the ‘wordpress.com’ removed from my site name? Thanks!

  You do need a paid plan to use a custom domain here.

  Our least expensive option for that is the Personal Plan at $48/year: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
