<a name = .. tag can’t be used?

    Since the pages are static,
    I am putting lot of text in one of my pages.
    To navigate through the pages I am trying to use
    <a name=”1″ .. to link to a location on the same page
    but somehow the HTML editor disables it.
    Does anyone know about this?

    And a link to what you are doing on your blog, or the exact code you are using (place code between backticks—lower case of the tilde ~~~~ see what it look like below this comment area…
