Luddite – wishes advice – re: Hierarchical – based website
-
INTRO: I have an existing Website (not blog): https://sites.google.com/site/amensproject/ – which I am attempting to convert to WordPress – for several reasons.
The website – is largely hierarchical – largest example:
Local Organizations
US
(table) of 50 states + DC – with 51 fileswith fairly brief files – linking to the sub-areas and sub-sub-areas.
The lowest level files mostly contain hyperlinks – for other websites – with brief explanations of the sites
PROBLEMS:
1. I am an aging Luddite – who struggles – with creating simple structures I can work with – HTML- and terms like “meta” etc. are totally foreign to me – I learn slowly,
2. I want to convert my Structure – as simply as possible – to WordPress – advice sought on themes – that can create a relatively simple – Single Column site – with links to the Sub-Areas with limited text on the Higher Level pages
3. I need to copy my files from Google Sites to – WordPress – any advice avoiding problems here.
4. Any other advice – more than welcome – specific areas to look in – I’m lost trying to find advice for example – about creating hierarchical pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. WordPress.COM prepared this guide to creating a website (with pages as opposed to posts). Perhaps will that help?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/And don’t worry about not knowing HTML: there is a visual editor.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/And you cannot edit Meta tags here anyway, so one less thing to worry about :-)

@amensproject – just a note for the future:
Your site is not hosted on WordPress.COM, this site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/
