m4a and video embeds
-
Last night I purchased the WP upgrade so that I could upload a file from GarageBand (a m4a file) onto my blog. The file is a podcast with very basic graphics. I couldn’t get anything to appear on my blog until I converted the file to an mp3, fiddled with the code, and ended up publishing the file as an audio embed using this code:
[audio http://willfulcaboose.wordpress.com/files/2008/03/sabrecast-1.mp3%5D
That is all fine and good, but I would really like to show my podcast with the artwork I so lovingly inserted. I need a video player, but I can’t find the code.
I have two questions:
1. What is the code for a WP video player?
2. (This is the dumb question) A m4a file IS a video file, right? My podcast looks great in Quicktime. Thanks!

I understand quite well what you’re doing. I just published my last podcast episode (edited in Garage Band).
m4A is an audio filetype (optionally with images) while the videos are m4V. So you don’t need to worry about the video player. I cannot get m4a to play in the audio player.
Here’s what I do.
I usually offer a download link for the M4A for ipod/itunes users and embed the MP3 for quick online listening. I do that in seperate posts with seperate categories (podcast-hq and podcast-lq) so readers can subscribe to either category’s feed as a podcast without getting duplicates.

Thanks for your help, deltafoxtrot. I’m bummed I can’t just embed the whole thing, but your solution sounds palatable enough. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!
