m4a playback
-
It seems that the m4 a files I am uploading into my posts are not playing back after being published. The audio icon says “buffering…” but never starts playing the track. How can I know if the file has loaded correctly and will play back for my readers?

As mentioned in this guide the file needs to be an MP3, or the embedded player will not be able to play the file. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the clarification, but that is disappointing since I purchased the space upgrade and the space upgrade explanation says, “What kind of files can I upload?
Free blogs can upload images (jpg, jpeg, png, gif), documents (pdf, doc, odt) and presentations (ppt).
In addition to those file types, blogs with a space upgrade can also upload audio (mp3, m4a, wav, ogg).
To upload videos (mp4, mov, wmv, avi, mpg, m4v), VideoPress is needed.”But I am glad to know why it is not working. Thank you for your help.

Otherwise you might want to try the SoundCloud player to see if that suits your needs, or convert the m4a file to mp3 with iTunes.
