Made blog my homepage, now I can't have Blog button

  • Unknown's avatar

I made my blog page my homepage. Now, though, I can’t figure out how to make a button on my menu that links back to that blog page. I think it’s because my blog is at abeclabbycounseling.wordpress.com now, instead of abeclabbycounseling.wordpress.com/blog/. I’ve only figured out how to make menu buttons that link to other pages like /blog/ or /contact/, not back to the homepage. Is there a simple fix I’m looking right past?

I have the free version, if it makes a difference.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hey there,

If you want a menu item as ‘home’ linked in your main menu, you can do so by custom links.
Head to My Sites > Design > Customize > Menu > Main menu > Add Items > custom link. Add the URL ‘abeclabbycounseling.wordpress.com’ and give link text as Home.

Although, if you click on the site title ‘Support for the family counselling’ in your website, you will be redirected to your homepage.

    Hope this helps!

  • I would also like to point out that that your posts are showing in the homepage because your homepage is set to “your latest posts”.
If you want to change your homepage to a static one and have all your posts appear in the blog page instead, you can do so by changing the homepage settings.

You can go through the link below to know how to create a static front page:

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

Thanks, staff-arya! (just seeing if tagging you was necessary) That did it.

I hadn’t even used the widgets to fill out the side bar before, and I found those on accident.

  • Glad to know it worked for you! :)
