Made Classic Newbie CSS Mistake! Want to Revert to Default Template Settings
-
Hi,
Thinking just about everything with this new age turnkey-blog is reversable, I did what every newbie does and as soon as I upgraded to the Customizable CSS, I copied and pasted the Original CSS style sheet and saved it. After this happened, my background color and font header disappeared. The pictures and links still appear to work and look find, however, the colors are horrid. So, I then thought that if I Activated ANOTHER Template, and then went BACK to my original template (iNove), it would work. Needless to say, the changes I made by copying and pasting remained. So, my blog is at http://unbreakablemanlaws.com and I would like to revert it back to the template iNove found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/inove
Any help resolving this as quickly as possible greatly appreciated! My original intent was simply to change the colors of the banner and the background and all went to hell!
Almost embarrased to say I’ve been coding by hand since the mid-90s…

So for future reference do I want to Save the Default Template settings first before editing. All I am really interested in doing is editing the colors a bit and perhaps changing the banner around…Everything else works just fine at the moment…

What you want to do, is to put only the specific sections and only the specific declarations you are changing into the edit window and then make sure “add to existing…” is selected.
As an example if you wanted to change the body background color all you would add to the edit window would be this:
body { background:#ACACAC none repeat scroll 0 0; } -
Also remember that CSS is theme specific and that means that the theme designer decided in their own warped mind what they would name classes and such in the CSS, so changes that you make to iNove will not apply correctly to a different theme. If you change themes, you have to delete the previous changes and start again from scratch.
