Made entire site too small.

  Hi. I mistakenly did a keyboard command last time I posted something (was trying to make an em dash but hit command/shift/- instead of option/shift-dash) and have made everything on my blog super tiny. I’ve done this before and can’t remember how to undo it (make everything normal size). Can anyone help? Thanks!

  Hi there. It sounds like you changed your browser’s zoom settings – your site itself appears at the correct size for me.

  I’m afraid I don’t know the shortcut keys for a Mac (on a PC you scroll the mouse-wheel while holding Ctrl or press Ctrl+/Ctrl-, so try the same with the Command key?), nor am I familiar at all with the Safari browser (if that’s what you’re using), but if you open your browser settings you should see a Zoom option somewhere. Set that back to 100% and things should appear how they should.

  Thanks for the response, but it’s not my browser’s zoom settings. Everything else (Web, this WP forum, My Reader, etc) is normal-sized; it’s just when I’m on my blog within WP, and the admin, when everything is too small. I am using a Mac and Chrome browser, not Safari.

  I’m sorry to be difficult, but I can’t think of anything else it can be but a browser setting as there’s no setting within WordPress.com (short of editing the CSS, which won’t affect the admin pages) to change the display size like this. And as already mentioned, I don’t see any sizing issue when viewing your site (in either Chrome or Firefox), making it more likely that the problem is restricted to your computer only.

  Please check if your site displays too small if you use a different browser. If it looks fine in another browser like Safari or Firefox, then it is definitely an issue with your Chrome browser.

  Chrome remembers your settings for specific sites, so navigate to your own site and check the zoom settings while you’re on that site.

  Another thing you can try is to reset Chrome completely. This will disable any add-ons, extensions and themes you have installed, as well as clearing all browsing history, site settings and cookies, so please be aware that you’ll need to redo any personalisation you might have done on your browser if you do this.
