Made tiny edit to post and WP deleted it … Had to redo

  I recently tried to make a tiny change to a published post. WordPress then deleted the post and sent it back to drafts. Not only that, it reverted to an older version of the post, so I had to add in all the final edits again and add all the drawings again. I managed to get the post up again (it’s there now), but there now TWO posts with that name sitting in the “front end.” Help. What happened? I have made changes to published posts before without WP taking the whole post down. Thank you for your help. I’m scared to edit anything ever again.

  That is very odd. And you are correct, it shouldn’t operate that way.

  When you edit a post, how do you access it to edit?

  I am disabled and can’t use a regular keyboard, so I do everything on an iPad.

  When I edit a post that is already been published in the dashboard, it seems to be okay. The problem happened when I edited it in the other part of WordPress … I don’t know what you call it, but one tutorial called it “the front end.” It is the area that just says Posts, Pages, etc.

  I would stick to the Dashboard interface if you are limited in what access you are able to use.

  In addition, you might consider trying the WordPress iPad app. You may find that much easier to use as it is designed for the tablet.

  Thanks, but I already use the WordPress iPad app. And this problem did not used to happen. Also, the front end and the back end do not communicate … sometimes my updates in the Dashboard section do not show up in the front end.
  I don’t know why…

  It happened twice. Once with the iPad app and once with the iPhone app. I never use the phone app anymore, but the iPad is my main computer. I have a laptop but it is very old.

  I wish I could be more help. But in reality, app related issues are best served in the forums that I linked to. The app developers are active there and that is the fastest path to a solution if there is some sort of a bug.
