Mail Chimp
-
I have a free account and I want to set up a pop-up subscribe form using Mail Chimp, I’ve done it before a couple of years ago but just recently I tried again and it won’t work, it’s so frustrating. I have tried everything, I’m not sure what I am doing wrong! It used to be so easy to set up but for some reason seems more complicated.

Hi there!
Mailchimp recently changed how to add a Subscriber Pop-up to your site. They now require that your site be verified by adding code to the <head> of your site.
Adding code to the <head> of your site is a Business plan or higher feature (with the use of a plugin). Websites with other plans can use the MailChimp block to embed a form on a page:

Hi thanks for your email.
If I upgrade to the ‘Personal WP Plan‘ would I be then able to add a Mail Chimp subscriber Pop-up?
And where do I find the head of my site?
Thank you!

Currently, no, a personal plan would not work.
As my colleague mentioned, because of a very recent change from Mailchimp, you would have to edit header code to add a popup. You would do that through a custom theme or a plugin. Only the Business Plan supports that.
It’s possible we’ll have a workaround for other plans in the future, but right now we do not. If you need a Mailchimp Popup, you might contact them to see if they can send you an older version of the code so it will work for you.
