mail forwarding issue – dns problem

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m having problems with bounced mail automattic.com refusing to relay. This is intermittent.

Seems to be an issue with wordpress taking too much control of my domain.

I have the domain registered through 123-reg in the uk.

I have an @ CNAME wordpress.com record, but also have mx records pointing to the 123-reg mx servers and have a number of mail redirects set up on that. So I expected the website stuff to happen through wordpress but for me to retain control of the email side through my mx records.

Am I misunderstanding the nature of the wordpress domain management (or indeed the dns records?) And if so can I set up mail redirects through wordpress? (how?)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry, I’m not sure how fake tiffany will help with a dns issue?

Hi. If you mapped your domain name to a WordPress.com blog, and regardless of who your domain name registrar is, you can add MX records, CNAME records, etc. here.

Is this how you are doing it?
