Hi there,
We do not currently have any support for embedding a MailChimp form in to WordPress.com. With that said, some other WordPress.com users have found a bit of a workaround which works for a lot of people which may work for you:

I hope this helps for you!

Thank you for the reply. I tried the work around but it isn’t taking.
I’m not dead set on mailchimp…just starting out here. What other options would you suggest? It’s really important I get a signup form on my site for my newsletter soon. Obviously there must be other options that work more seamlessly with wordpress no?
Thanks,
Bart

Hiya Bart,
We don’t actually have any newsletter embeds which are enabled right now. I can and will make a request on your behalf to get one enabled for MailChimp so that your forms will be more properly placed in your site, but unfortunately I don’t have any way to tell when or even if that would be implemented.
Can I ask where you ran in to troubles with the MailChimp work around which I referenced earlier? I’ll be happy to take a look for you. I can’t log in to MailChimp at all, but I can at least take a look at our end.

Hey and thank you,
I tried MailChimps different embed options and they do not show up right on my site. Here is an example of the code that I’m trying to use for my site. It does not show up correctly. The print is huge and/or the box to type in one’s email and sign up doesn’t display at all. Instead the actual code does I believe. Let me know if this helps at all, thank you so much. Bart

That’s right. The MailChimp form does not work in WordPress.com right now. Instead the work around which I mentioned before has to be used. The steps which you would need to take are right here:
- Design your signup form on the MailChimp embed code tool. Since it’s not really going to be all that usable, it’s probably not worth including more than maybe a heading and the email address.
- While you’re there, go to “edit forms” and get the link to your subscribe form.
- Once you have it looking good take a Screenshot of it (and possibly crop it out in an image editor as necessary). Note that you’ll probably want to set a very small width.
- Upload that image to your WordPress.com Media Gallery and copy that link
- Add a Text/HTML widget to your sidebar and simply create a link that has only that image as the content. Something like:
<a href="http://eepurl.com/bVDa"><img src="http://makethebreakdotnet.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/signup.png" border="0"></a>
Now when folks click on the image, it’ll pop open your subscribe form. It’s not the perfect solution, but it should work!

Problem is your link looks nothing like mine? Mine is huge as you saw in my previous post. It is just that way when I design it in MailChimp no matter what I do.
Also I took a screenshot of the form on the web but the widget does not accept the URL location like it does for photos.
Sorry i’m retarded but I don’t get it man-

By the way here is the url link to my form:

OK, it looks like the form you created is far too large to fit inside of a text widget (you’ll notice in the instructions from the other MailChimp user that they say you should only include a heading and an email address).
I’m going to provide for you the code which will work to do what you’re looking to do on, say, a page or if it was a smaller image in your sidebar. You can substitute in a smaller image by changing out the second link:
<a href="http://breakfreewellness.us9.list-manage1.com/subscribe?u=e9d08bf6c1a081e6b3c8c2a65&id=3190e9450a"><img src="https://makethebreakdotnet.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/break-free-wellness-newsletter-jpeg.jpg" border="0"></a> -
Wow I really appreciate your help. Your going the extra mile here but it still isn’t working. I know my code was large before but I don’t know how to create it myself, MailChimp just does it for me.
I tried both of your codes in two different widgets. One for text or HTML and another one just for text. When I go to save, the code just disappears from the widget(s). WTF am I doing wrong brotha? I just copy and paste one of the codes you provided into a widget correct?
It worked like a charm when I wanted to display an actual photo. It does not work for anything else. I am missing something…

I’m not quite sure what’s going wrong when you put it in to the text widget. I just put it in for you and it’s showing on your site now.
It looks pretty terrible, I’m not going to lie to you. Like I mentioned, you need to get a smaller image in place because this one just doesn’t fit. You can always just take out the part that says:
<img src="https://makethebreakdotnet.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/break-free-wellness-newsletter-jpeg.jpg" border="0">(make sure you leave the /a inside of the brackets)
And put in a little blurb that says “Sign up to receive my newsletter!”
Or something like that.
