mailchimp integration

    Dear WordPress:

I am building a new website utilizing the eventbrite template. I love the seamless integration. However, it appears that I can’t embed a mailchimp email sign up form into my wordpress.com website. This is a travesty. How are people supposed to sign up for my organization’s emails? It seems the best I can do is make a hyperlink to the form or make some sort of button image.

Please fix it so I can embed a mailchimp sign up form! I can embed with wordpress.org but not wordpress.com.

    Thanks,
    Crystal

  • Hi Crystal,

That’s correct—we limit the what code can be included on WordPress.com sites for security and stability purposes (a bit more about it is at Code).

For MailChimp, the linked solution is the route you’ll need to go, short of using a WordPress.org-powered site. They have instructions on how to do it on their site.

If you have any other questions or need anything else, please let me know. Thanks!

    Dear kraftbj:

Thank you for the swift response. Are there any plans to integrate mailchimp into wordpress.com? Are there any email CMS companies aside from mailchimp that are integrated with wordpress.com? Mailchimp is so highly used, especially by nonprofits such as ourselves, that it would be a wonderful feature to add to wordpress.com. I would go the wordpress.org route since there are an infinite number of plug-ins and widgets available for that, however the eventbrite plug-in only works with wordpress.com at the moment and that is more important to me.

    Sincerely,
    Crystal

  • Howdy,

I like using MailChimp too, so I understand where you’re coming from. We don’t have any plans currently, but I’m including your request on our feature tracker for future consideration.

    Thanks!
