mailchimp integration
-
Hi there
I would like to allow users to follow my blog with just a click of a button from my landing page (because I already capture their email address and I don’t want to ask them twice).
Users visit my landing page and register their email to be notified when the app updates. On the form confirmation box, I would like to give them the option of signing up to follow my WordPress blog with a single click. Is there a way to take the email they have already entered and automatically input into WordPress to follow my blog?
Kind regards,
SamThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Sam! I’m not sure I’m fully understanding what you want to do here. Are you trying to use Mailchimp with your site http://news.trolleysaver.com.au/ ?
The standard way that Mailchimp suggests you insert their signup form uses javascript and form code, which for security reasons is not allowed on WordPress.com.
However, they provide alternate instructions for using the signup form URL:
http://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/share-your-signup-form#Signup-form-URL
Here’s how you can set up an Image Link to use this:
In a post: http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/image-links/
In a widget area: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/
We also have a built in emailing function here on WordPress.com that allows your users to subscribe with one click and be instantly notified of every new post you publish on your site.

Hi sorry I didn’t explain properly.
At the moment, visitors are reaching my Unbounce landing page (www.trolleysaver.com.au) and signing up to be put on my mailing list for app updates – this list is stored in Mailchimp.
I would like to also give them the option of signing up to my WordPress blog (news.trolleysaver.com.au), but would like to take the email address they have already entered and place it directly into WordPress without them having to enter the address again and click ‘follow’.

Ah! We don’t have a way for you to bulk add them as followers to your WordPress.com site, but you can send them a follow request in batches of ten here:
https://trolleysaver.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=wpcom-invite-users
Just make sure you’re inviting them to be ‘Followers’.
Another option would be to send them all an email via Mailchimp that embeds our external one-click follow button:
I hope one of these options works for you! Let me know if I can help further. :)
