  I’m trying to follow the directions I found to add a plugin for Mailchimp for WordPress. But I cannot find the Plugin menu to continue. Is this feature not allowed?

  You don’t need the plugin, you have a widget;

  Add a Mailchimp Pop-Up

  I added the mail chimp widget to my site but it says that is inactive. how can i activate it?
