  I am trying to add the mailchimp plugin to my free wordpress blog. Is this possible or do I need to upgrade?

  WordPress.com sites doesn’t support uploading custom plugins eg. Mailchimp however if you run the self-hosted version of WordPress, you’ll be able add custom plugins.
