Mailchimp pop up

    Hi,
I integrated the mailchimp pop up. It was working in the beginning.
Now it’s not working. I’m not sure why.
I copied the pop up code from MailChimp and paste in on Mailchim subscriber popup (jetpack) widget.

Can you please assist to check what is wrong?

    thanks

  • Hi there,

    Are you speaking of http://bloomclover.com/?

You have that site hidden behind a coming soon plugin at the moment, so there’s no way for me to check this.

The Mailchimp pop-up will only work on pages that load the widget area where you added it, so if you’ve added it to a sidebar widget area, for example, the form won’t appear on full-width pages that don’t display the sidebar.

The form will also only appear once for every visitor. If you’ve seen the form before and then dismissed it, it won’t appear for you again unless you clear your browser cookies. So to test the form it’s best to always view your site in an incognito browser window instead.

    Yes, http://bloomclover.com

I added the code under footer widget. And my foot width is contained (on the customize setting).
I cleared my brower cookies and used incoginto but I still dont see the pop up.

I turned off the coming soon page.

Wonder if I miss anything else. Are you able to help?

    Thanks

  • Now your site is behind a Bluehost coming soon page, instead of the custom one you had before, so I’m still completely unable to see your site for myself.

Can you share the code you’ve added to the widget here? Paste it between backticks so the actual code will post. Then I can at least try it on a test site to see if it works there, to help us determine if the issue is with the code or with something specific to your site.

  • Also, as your site is using the open source version of WordPress, you don’t actually need our/Jetpack’s widget to add that form. You should be able to just follow Mailchimp’s own instructions for adding a pop-up form, and paste the code directly into a HTML widget instead.

On WordPress.com we require use of our widget because we have restrictions on the types of code that can be used here, and the code used by that pop-up form is not allowed on WordPress.com sites. But no such restriction exists for your site using the open source version made on WordPress.org.

    Hi,

Thank you for a prompt response.
Hmm.. I’m not sure how to turn off the bluehost coming soon page. What is the backticks ?
On the available widget, I dont see “HTML widget but I can see “custom HTMP” and Text”. Do you mean I can put the code in one of these?

Sorry, I have zero background to this. Just try to launch my blog for the first time ever.

    Thanks so much for helping.

Below is the code I got from mailchimp pop up

    <script id=”mcjs”>!function(c,h,i,m,p){m=c.createElement(h),p=c.getElementsByTagName(h)[0],m.async=1,m.src=i,p.parentNode.insertBefore(m,p)}(document,”script”,”https://chimpstatic.com/mcjs-connected/js/users/f5a04d6dbbb369233a6892d4f/f5a0c251a1b70a84cc08046bb.js”);</script>

  • Hi there,

Something is missing from this code and it doesn’t work. Since your site is not hosted by us and this is not a Jetpack issue it’s best to post in the WordPress.org support forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Also, regarding that coming soon page, you need to contact Bluehost and ask them how to turn it off.
