MailChimp Pop-up With WordPress Signup?

    I have recently revamped my WordPress blog (yay!) and now see that there is an option to add a MailChimp pop-up to begin building an email list.

    Thus far, I have only used the built-in WordPress sign-up to send an email to subscribers when I post a new blog.

    My questions are:
    1) If I add the MailChimp pop-up and begin building an email list there, does this mean that the my current 560 readers who have subscribed to my blog not get my blog posts?

    2) When installing the MailChimp sign up, is it best practice to eliminate the WordPress sign up features?

    I’m a bit confused as to how (and whether) the two integrate, or if I have to start from scratch in building a list if I choose to use MailChimp.

    Hi there, From MailChimp’s side, it looks like you can either create a completely separate email newsletter or integrate your site’s RSS feed . https://kb.mailchimp.com/campaigns/blog-posts-in-campaigns/share-your-blog-posts-with-mailchimp I am not entirely familiar with that process and will have time to look later.

    WPcom Followers who are already subscribed to your site via the Follow button will continue to receive notifications of your new WordPressdotcom blog posts by whatever method they have chosen (Reader, email, Jabber instant message) until they unsubscribe.

    There’s no way to export the current list of WordPressdotcom subscribers (only email followers), so if you want your current followers to receive your new MailChimp newsletter, you’ll want to let them know in a blog post that there is a new newsletter and to sign up for it directly. They can then unsubscribe from the WordPressdotcom new post notification email by clicking the link at the bottom of any email they received or by unfollowing in the Reader.

    If you are going to exclusively send a MailChimp newsletter, then you would want to remove the WordPressdotcom follow buttons where you can.
