MailChimp synchronization

Hello, I am using the MC4WP plugin, I have linked the MC audience list, it has imported correctly. I added the Newsletter form to the website. There have been 3 subscriptions since. Although the field for First Name and Surname are filled in, the audience list First Name and Surname sections remain empty. Only the email address of the subscriber is visible. Thank you for your feedback, I need to know the names of our subscribers. Best wishes, Chris

  • I don’t see any sites under your account here.

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

  • I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.

    Thank you :)

So who should I reach out to to find out more?

I manage our website (Zambia), but the travel agency we work with holds the domain (South Africa) and they won’t share the host contact details with me as they have over 30 websites all together to manage. I’m already struggling to get security issues fixed (like the little “i” I have at the top instead of the lock, although I have the SSL Certificate).

Sadly I don’t have time to read through forums and need to find a solution quickly to be able to promote our new website and prompt people to subscribe to our newsletter.

I am currently searching a new host in order to transfer our domain, but as an NGO we need a cost effective host. And I’m also afraid of losing all our email addresses when we transfer domains.

I’m not an expert in all these security issues and so am a bit lost for choices

Thanks for any advice you might have

  • If you have a problem with the plugin you mentioned, you’d ask for help its developers directly:

    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/mailchimp-for-wp/

As for the SSL certificate, only your registrar can help with that. You can see who is your registrar here:
